Plan on taking my ABALE to deer camp this year and was wondering if anyone has used this knife around camp or for skinning deer...
Would it make a good camp/skinner????

Haven't skinned with it, but I've done everything else. You can't go wrong with a Badger, regardless of the model version.

it would probably excel in what you want due to it's nearly ideal thickness for that size knife. If it only had a 9.5 inch blade:eek:

ditto, they are awesome hunters

I have a Mauser integral drop point 4" hunter that I used for years and was perfectly happy with, until I got my Anorexic Badger LE, with the butt ground even with the micarta. This thing makes my old knife feel like an unwieldy club.

Now that Kimberly is doing better and does not require constant attention, I hope to get back into deer hunting this fall, after a four-year layoff. Maybe I will get to actually use it.

May take my ABA-LE hunting when LeatherHog gets me some skin. However, first on tap is my D2 Safari Skinner. I know it's a Rat, but it's a durn good 'un.
