Here are some pics of a abalone handled Larry Donnely bladed Joel Davis bolstered Companion model that is going to its new owner in KC Mo. What ya'll think of it?

There are so many features of this knife that are bold. The patterns of the blade and bolster steel and the abalone. That works very well with the design that is quite simple, but also very pleasing in it's overall look. The filework adds some very nice embellishment.

IMO, the diameter of thumbstud is too big. I use Sheffield Supply for a lot of thumbstuds, but there are others available that may be better suited. Well thought-out design and aesthetics, save for that.

If the damascus is not moderately etched, which from the photos appears not, may I suggest that? Bluing over that, and polishing back the high spots reveals the chatoyancy, again, imo.

Best Regards,

VERY nice, however I agree with Steven in that the thumbstud is over powering.

I would also suggest your getting a free photosite (fototime/photo bucket) to store/post your images.
Along with some other makers here, your knives are much too beautiful to be presented in the thumbnail format.

Trust me, if I can manipulate photos in fototime/photo bucket/flicker etc. anyone can.
These sites are free (unless you choose to go with all the bells and whistles) and simple to use.
