Abandoned For sale threads

Has anyone come across a for sale or for trade thread within the Busse community, who's owner is non responsive or seems to have abandoned the thread? Its seems particularly abnormal when its a Bussekin knife for sale considering how attached most of us seem to these knives. I'm having an issue with this very predicament right now. I wont name names, or post links. I dont even want to mention the knife (for obvious reasons, you scoundrels) I'm not really looking to blow up anyone's spot... or even looking for a solution. Just airing some frustration. I've managed to track my grail knife through 3 owners, right down to a for sale/trade thread for the knife. I posted that I would take it, and then PM'd the owner. I think it's been a week now with no response from the owner. No action in the sale thread and no return email. (I tried emailing him too) I get that not everyone spends 23 hours a day, here on the boards, but if you're trying to sell something, wouldn't you think you'd check in on it once in a while... oh well.

Wouldn't be so aggravating if it wasn't the ONE knife of its kind I could find.

I've never come across a thread or poster like that, fortunately. I've found some for-sale threads as old as a year that weren't listed as closed and had some knives apparently unsold, and I PMed the OP with interest, but he'd always reply.

Buyers have flaked out on me and have become pretty uncommunicative. It's strange for a seller, though. Not too advocate stalking or anything but I'd see when his last activity on the forum was. If it's obvious that he's ignoring you, maybe take it to the GBU forum, but conservatively without any assumptions?
 
How long ago was the knife posted for sale?

There was one instance I had when I found a knife I wanted and thought it had been posted that week. After checking back it was posted a year earlier. The guy still had the knife and i got a great deal on it. :D

The thread was started on 1-11-12... so maybe I'm a bit anxious, but... almost 2 weeks with no response.
 
That's odd. I STILL (almost a year later) have to get a new F/S thread going. I'm just so darned lazy. LOL
 
I think that is odd for a for sale thread that is that new. Maybe medical problems/emergency/computer crash or something.

Yeah, and what's weirder, is like I said, I even used the email function that should have gone right to his personal email. I mean, even if he changed his mind its no big deal to say so... instead of just leaving the thread out there.

I Keep thinking that I am going to put up an ad, but it does not seem to happen.

Interestingly enough just saying that I was thinking about it seems to take care of what I was trying to do in the first place and I did not even have to take any pictures, it has been some years since I put an ad in the for sale portion of the Forums.
 
I tried to bring up my post here. But somehow my sale thread gets lost in the pages. I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly or are we allowed to bump the sale thread. Mod please advise.

They don't get bumped in the For Sale forums, but they'll go to the top if you sort by latest post.
 
I've emailed a couple guys from old threads and 4 out of the 6 replied. (3 had been sold, 1 was still for sale and 2 no replies)

Also I noticed that "LK" who is banned here has lots for sale and posted on other forums. Is he a legit seller, considering contacting him but was hesitant because he had been banned. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx :)

Wanted to buy requests don't belong here. Please keep your WTB requests limited to the Knives: Wanted To Buy forum...
You already have a WTB in the proper forum, so since I can't move it, I edited it out.

If by "to" you really mean "too", then no, I think you are the only one.

To the OP, you could check his profile and see when he was last logged on. It should show a time and date unless he has blocked that out in his privacy settings.

The e-mail associated with his BFC account may also no longer be valid, especially if it was an account associated with an Internet Service Provider that he is no longer using.

You could always just start a thread using his nick in the title, like "Hey, on_the_edge!!!" and then ask him to contact you.

Sometimes folks disappear for a long time, especially in this time of military deployments and such. Persevere and sooner or later you'll make contact.
 
If the person who posted it is active on the site, but ignoring the thread it would be weird, but if they are away from the site, that would explain it.
 
Yeah, I guess I should check his recent activity and see if he's been around since posting the thread.
 
No answer is an answer in it-of-itself. Tells you about the seller-unless something medical etc.

Really!? I searched and... oh no, wait... I didn't search. I was given a name of someone with a trade thread so I went directly there.... see.... that's why YOU'RE the knife hunter...
