That's pretty cool. Pauley Perrette rocks! :thumbup: Hope they show the lunchbox. Wouldn't mind seeing her rock the holster too. ;)
 
I don't think the holster is for her but supposedly the lunchbox will get at least a small amount of screen time.If I get more info I will update.
 
It probably won't be on this week but here are some extra details from the maker.
Some folks had been asking for details, so here goes:

Started working on it at 0900 Sunday, took the pictures 0100 Monday. 16 hours of straight work, lots of coffee, and eating meals in the shop while working.

Had to mold the panels out of Kydex first, then cover/laminate them with the leathers. (There's no way I could have a leather box this large hold this shape without a support structure...especially on a studio set where it has to endure some abuse).

Each jig/mold for the kydex had to be built also, before trying to mold the parts.

To be fair, I spent Saturday doing the math, sketching the product, figuring the sizes of the panels, etc.

Then it was *nose to the grindstone* and just do it.

And cross my fingers. :-)

The interior of this one is unfinished Kydex, as the prop master didn't indicate that it would have interior shots.

That being said, I've already laid out two interiors for potential sales...one is an insulated kydex insert (to help keep hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold) for lunchbox version, and another is a foam/cushioned interior covered in satin, silk, or sateen so as to make it a Goth-themed oversized clutch.

The measurements of the unit, BTW, are 8" diameter and 12" long.

Its going to be a few weeks till the episode airs...I had made a holster for them for a specific episode and sent it to them first week of March. That episode will air on the 10th. Whether or not any scenes with my holster in it actually made it into the final edit remains to be seen.

That being said...I've got my fingers crossed that any footage with the lunchbox in it actually makes the final edit and gets air time, but you never know what will happen. I'm just happy to have gotten an opportunity to produce a prop for such a great and highly rated show, AND get paid to do something I love to do! If it actually makes it and is seen by millions of viewers, well.....thats just icing on the cake at that point.

I'll be sure to keep folk informed of when the episode is scheduled to air (that is assuming that they let me know...I only know that the episode where I supplied the holster will air next week because I was aware of the script and plotline, and found an actual synopsis of the episode online that matched the description the prop master gave me...) and barring knowing ahead of time, I'll most definitely try to get a You Tube clip posted up on my sales site.

An update for folks here about the Lunchbox....the episode airs (so I'm told) on April 17th, 2012. NCIS is on the CBS network, 8PM Eastern / 7PM Central.
 
And it look like this was NOT the episode in which it airs. Disappointed, but hey, thats Hollywood for ya. Only three e[isodes remain, and they air on May 1st, 8th, and 15th. We'll see if it even make it through the final edits for each show....
 
I don't think they aired an episode last week so maybe they are running an episode behind
