It's amazing how many people thought he was dead a long time ago.

I have all the seasons of Barney Miller, and I try to watch an episode after work to ease my mind.

One of my favourites was when Fish didn't show back from a call, the gang got the news he was carried away by an ambulance because of smog/breathing problems. But they couldn't find him at any of the hospitals and Woj said maybe they were calling the wrong places, maybe the morgue...

Then in walks Fish, smiling, everyone rushes to him and asks what happened! he said just trouble with the smog he was fine and had the ambulance let him out and he walked back.

They said 'but the ambulance is not allowed to let you out until you get to the hospital to be checked out!'

To which Fish replied 'The gun helped ;)

Yes always enjoy watching him and that crew, RIP Fish !

My mom is childhood friends with his daughter Carol. Her and my sister went to his wake yesterday and to his daughters house for shiva today. She said Gilbert Godfrey said the eulogy and had everyone cracking up!which he would have really liked I think. Very sweet man, and he lived a long healthy, prosperous life and died very peacefully. Can't ask for more than that! RIP Abe!
 
Really nice fellow in person.
He spoke at my job 5 years ago, and hung around for the cocktail hour after the event.
Kind and gracious to every one who approached him.

I'm on the right ;)
 
Always liked him and his deadpan style. He had a great long run. Can't ask for more than that.
