Abnormal Military?

I saw a NIB CPM-440V, plain-edge, three-screw, black clip, Military at a gun/knife show today...it has no markings on the clip side of the blade except for "Golden Colorado U.S.A." on the tang, and on the reverse side "MILITARY" (all caps.) on the blade, with "Spyderco CPM 440V" on the tang. All markings are etched into the blade. In the word "MILITARY", the letter A does not have the horizontal mark (-) completing the letter--it looks like an upside down V. Is this a manufacturing defect, or is it normal on some Military models?

This is the newest incarnation of the Military's markings. I got one like that from Sal at the NYC show, it was a demo. When I got it home I found that it needed a little work on the lock (maybe too many spydernuts having at it on the show circuit.) Spyderco ended up replacing it altogether and the new one has the same markings.

Hey tortoise,
I appreciate the information--thought I had found an anomaly there...but I was hoping, that maybe like a mis-stamped coin, it could possibly be more valuable that way. I'll go back tomorrow and buy it anyhow! It seems that a lot of the Spydies have various markings--the Military in their new catalog is even marked differently. I've been looking for an unused two-screw clip, ATS-34 model--but I think a lot of others are too! Thanks again!
