? about a Kukri

Can any one tell me where I could find information on the use of a kukri in a tactical situation? I am comfortable using one as a tool, but I would like to know how to use one in a fight if I had to. I have had some instruction on the use of edged weapons, but this type of knife feels differnt to me. It seems that there would be more to it than if you were to use a Bowie or dagger type Knife . This may be an absolutly stupid question but no one around here seems to have any experience with Kukris.

I've trained combat Khukuri with Dr. Gyi and some others from the American Bando Association. It is a significant part of their combat art. I'll try to locate a website or phone number for you.
 
I tried running American Bando and Burmese Bando through a search engine, but didn't get anything great. I also ran Dr. Maung Gyi with modest results. You might want to try it to see if you get better results. I also suggest that you contact Uncle Bill, the administrator of the Himalayan Imports forum. I've discussed Dr. Gyi and a few other khukuri martial artists with him. He could probably give you references to many good instructors who are customers of his.
