My home was broke into while we where out, among the things taken was the USMC K-Bar fighting/utility knife issued to my father before deployment to Korea, he was army EOD. Dad gave me that knife in 1969, I understand that I will never have the same knife unless I find... I would like to get something that is close to what I had, any suggestion? it had a hard plastic/synthetic sheaf.

You can find a near duplicate of that same knife if that is your wish. Or if it is acceptable to you, you can order a new similar knife from Kabar after explaining the model of knife lost. There are some great people in the knife manufacturing and collecting world, a "brotherhood", if you will. You can start your search here in the Kabar forum. You can even find the factory rep contact information there to get best identification of the specific knife you are seeking. Paul Tsujimoto is the Senior Engineer of product development and quality control there. Very knowledgable, approachable and helpful.

Good luck with your search!
