I don't know for sure, but why does it really matter ?

Another troll from a new member, ask this on the official BM forums and you shall receive.

I think it's 420 series stainless, it should be made in the USA as Benchmade appears to source most of their materials from the US.

Do people actually hang out there? Why wouldn't it be the same asking here?

Yes :o The only benefit I can see Charlie, would be that they have an active presence there, and some of their engineers,
as well as other employees, are on there, on a regular basis. There is actually a lot of info on their forum...
They are very good about answering questions, and if they aren't certain, they will take the time to find out an answer.
Great people working at BM

But on the other hand, there are quite a few very knowledgeable members here, that are well versed in BM.
I thought most of their materials were sourced in the U.S, but am not 100% certain

Yes, and it is different asking there.

Most of the BMK die hards dwell on the home forum, meaning, a lot of experienced members who don’t troll after one negative experience with a BM knife.

Like 338375 stated, you can private message BKC employees/engineers with questions directly and have a response usually within the same day.. Huge plus with me. I like to get the answer straight from the source and skip the regurgitated, biased info. BKC engineers actively post over there on a daily basis, which is greatly appreciated.

Benchmade never posts anything here.. I usually see new knives posted on the home forum first, and then they are posted here some time after - usually by a member enrolled in both forums.

Well, that is cool. Be nice to have at least one person show up here, at least once a month. ;)

We wouldn't want that Charlie, it would spoil our fun. Many of us left the official BKC forum due to bickering and worse. This alternative on Blade simply shows what we can do without their moderating.

A call to BM confirmed that they do indeed make their own screws and liners. However, there have been instances where a component part may be produced elsewhere. Rare but it can happen.

And I agree, it would be really nice to see the BM mod show up from time to time and answer some of the questions like theses that come up, and actually "moderate" the sub forum too.

A big thanks to Rev for taking an interest and helping us out! But their lack active participation remains a tremendous disappointment.

Easy solution.. Join both and get the information you need from either one.. Both forums have their pros and cons.

I’m sure most of you who left still lurk over on the home forum anyway lol
