the last sentence of the introduction says"This is an unlimited run and will not be serialized", what does that mean?

That's is not a limited number and won't be marked "234 of 500" (or whatever number) on the blade.

This means they will make as many knives as KW orders for a period of time (typically for a year) so the total number made is not limited to a specific number. Not serialized means that the knives will not have individual production numbers printed on the blade (such as "150 of 500") like BM typically puts on limited edition knives.

thank you for the explanation. so i will get time to raise money for my another 710-1401. recently, i just got my first ares 730-1301 from ebay, so i am feeling the pinch. hope it as you say.

It is as he says, but there isn't likely to be any advance notice when those sell out. They'll just go out of stock at the end with no replacement order from KW to restock their inventory. So, you have time, but it's hard to say how much. You can call KW from time to time to see what they've got in stock and whether they think there will be any more reorders - they're very helpful.

Roger and staff at KW are the tops. It would be good advice to call them and have your request placed for the 710-1401. There's always the chance they might have one when you are ready to buy it.

Like those limited edition gold coins sold in the back of magazines, production is limited to however many orders they get prior to needing the production line for something else.

ttkttk33, contemplating a 710-1401 ?
It's always nice to know what others who have made the purchase think. Check out the included two links and you'll be more informed for your decision.

For me, the only negative is that the tip protrudes slightly when in the closed position where you could snag some skin. That was the only minor. Centering...perfect. For me, a great purchase.

thank you for your reply, i have checked those two threads and got you guys' thoughts. i got one 710-1401 and plan another purchase on it, man i love this knife!
mine has the same thing about the tip in closed position, besides, my blade is off center as you can see the pic, unpleased about this. furthermore, i check the back of the tip of the blade carefully, it appears a little bit of the color of brown, i wonder if the tip had unexpected anneal when the blade had been shaped by the machine which might cause hardness reduction of the tip of the blade. i hope i am wrong about this.

The brown on the tip makes me wonder if they are grinding them down to try and avoid people complaining about getting fingers poked.

My first one had a bad tip that grabbed my finger with ease. So I sent it back and exchanged it with KW.
