I have been designing my custom 110, Mirror finish blade Rams horn scales brass bolsters. It comes to $141.00 with a brown sheath. Now that is the most that I have ever spent on a knife. Im the type that carries and use all my knives. I was just wondering how many of you EDC your custom 110s.
Thanks for reading

dispatch 510, I have a 110 that I had Leroy Remer put stag on that goes on every hunting trip.

You'll get years of enjoyment and satisfaction out of using that 'Rammy'. Welcome to the world of 110s.

Figure out how much it will "cost" you to carry that and use it. It's cheap pleasure:D. Preston

I agree with everbody's sentiments, I just can't bring myself to carry and use mine very much . I may drop it ! ;) DM

I have a CKS Sambar stag 110 with S30V steel that is my favorite knife. Of my EDC rotation, this and a Vantage Pro are my two most often used. Don't be afraid to use it.

I have "backups" that are for looks, show & tell, display, etc.

I think of these things spread over time.

If you carry it daily for a decade it would cost you about 3 cents a day (assuming I did the math right). Carry it for 30yrs then you're looking at a penny a day.

I can not think of anything else in life that is going to please me that much for a penny a day.

Dispatch, I like the ram's horn slabs as well . Some of them have a natural finger goove pattern . DM

humm
in 67 i paid 9$ for a 110 and i made 1.25 an hr
and i used the snot out of it !!!
so today a electricians helper makes 14 an hr
so 120$ for a custom is about what a user years ago cost
so ........ use the snot out of it if you want!!!
every one will say "wow! is that a Buck Knife?"

I orderd mine in Rams Horn with nickel silver and added S30V and brown sheath. After the 112 went on the Buck specials web site I got lucky and ordered the one with rams Horn with Brass bolsters, it was the one with the old 3 dot blades. Now I want to order a 110 with the Rams Horn and brass bolsters, seems the brass compliments the Rams Horn a litle better for me. I probably will still pay the extra $7.50 or so and get the S30V, instead of the mirror finished blade. Each person's personal taste differs some and none is wrong. If we all liked the same thing we all probable would still be driving Black Ford Model T's.---LOL

I have to get one to see if I'd actually carry it or not. I've always said no safe queens but I sure got some I dont let out of the cage very often:)

Lookin at s30v N/S smooth Buff with fingergrooves and no rivots. If anyone sees my wife give her this idea for birthday:D

I was up late one night around 1 am--computer surfing the bay and ran across all of the above except the finger grooves for a $85 BUY IT NOW. Could not hit the keys fast enough. When i received it totally mint to me. I was wanting to order one with the rivets, but after getting this one I'm glad i did not. The smooth handle looks sooo good.
If I see her I will for sure show and tell her your desires.---LOL

yes. they are great knives to carry. if anything happens you can send it back to buck and they can fix it. just make sure not to loose it or anything. I would not use a custom buck 110 as a "beater" knife because they are fairly expensive and look pretty nice. im getting a buck 110 custom too: nickel bolsters, s30v, and oak scales. :)

I just posted another thread about two customs I orederd, one for myself and another for my grand father. They came to $150 each, 420HC black oxcide blade, asian water buffalo handles with figner grooves and rivets, nickel bolsters.

I guess it really depends on how you look at it. I only purchae a knife its going to be a user, otherwise I have no interest in it. The reason for spending this much on these knives, even though they will perform just the same as a stand 110, is that the look and style.

Performance = the same as a standard 110

Style/Look with the same performance comes out on top for me.

actually the fit-and-finish is a lot better on the custom 110's. they are a little nicer than your "standard" 110.

My indigo/S30V/nickle-silver CS 110 has been my EDC all week, and will probably remain on my side at least till the new year.

I am now carrying my Full scaled Carbon Fiber 110 with pocketclip that I "made"
2.7 ounces guys, a third the weight of a brass bolstered 110!

Agreed! That is what I had meant, by performance = the same, I meant both a custom and standard are likely to perform the same and last as long - the custom's just have extra attetion given to them.

I've just put a full week in of carrying my first custom and have received a lot of complimants and questions from friends on where I got it.
