A while back i purchased a Malla for my Father's birthday, waited for about 4 days without any kind of confirmation that it had been sent (thought the money was moved from y account). I contacted Mrs Yangdu and she informed me that the Mallas were out of stock and that I could switch my order to an Ang Khola, and she'd ship it the next day, so I did. 2 days passed and I emailed her again asking if i was supposed to receive a confirmation email and she said she would add an additional letter opener and ship it the next day, so I said ok. Now it's been 3 days since then and i have received no information about my order and am starting to get worried as she has not responded to any of my emails asking for confirmation on the shipping or tracking order.

Update. I just got off the phone with Mrs Yangdu, whom was very kind and professional. We figured out the confusion was due to USPS delays. I am looking forward to the gift and especially the extra letter opener we received as a father's gift for his birthday.

Overall 10/10 customer service and I would recommend to anyone.

Unfortunate about the initial delay but you can count on Yangdu to make it right. The tracking shows that the PO in Reno got the package on the morning of the 23rd, so it seems unusual that they haven't delivered it within 3 days (by today).

thank you very much Yangdu, I will be sure to pass on your wishes!

Auntie is the best business person on this planet, if it's wrong, she will make it right, there is no doubt about that.

Glad all has been resolved, and I am sure you will be happy with your purchase, and the gift. If for any reason it doesn't meet your expectations, contact auntie, and she will do her best to assuage your concerns.

Bill:

It sounds like you ordered the Malla from the HI website online store.

For future reference -- if and when you want another HI blade -- it's better to follow this forum and buy one of Yangdu's DOTDs (Deals Of The Day). That way, you know that the knife is actually available, and you also know the exact length, weight and which kami made the knife. DOTDs often are listed with a significantly discounted price. There might be a cosmetic flaw (never anything structural), or it might be overstock, or a holiday sale, or for whatever reason. Yangdu likes to encourage repeat customers, and this forum is where the repeat customers live.

Although many people encounter the HI website first in their web searches, this forum is much more active. The HI online store only shows a subset of models and does not say which are available at a given time. Also, the lengths, weights and pictures at the online store are generic, whereas the listings on this forum are the exact knife, with detailed information.

Many people fall in love with HI blades and over time accumulate substantial collections. Perhaps you will become one of them.
