I REALLY love the looks of this blade but wanted to get opinions f/those who have one.

This thread is not mean to bash or change the design... I just want honest opinions f/those who've had the pleasure to use one.

What are your likes/dislikes on this one? Is there anything you'd change or modify (goes along w/the first question I suppose...)?

Do you have any in-use pics?

I've been wanting one of these for a while... just not sure about pulling the trigger yet.

You might try sending a pm to Rockywolf, coaldigger, or wildewinds (he designed it) I can`t remember who else has one.

Great knife. My camp knife and favorite bigger knife. Tough, nimble, and while a heavy knife, one I feel confidence in to handle any task.

I designed it to fit my hands, which are on the large size. For me, it feels awesome. I'm not sure how the handle will feel with smaller hands.

The thumb ramp just works. I've heard people express doubt about its utility, but for me it adds an extra bit of confidence when I'm using the blade for more delicate cutting tasks.

The blade was designed to be big and heavy enough for chopping, easy to sharpen, and "in front" of the knuckles (i'm not sure how to express that) for easier food prep (chopping on a cutting board) and for added safety.

It's more of a camping knife, I really like it as a hiking knife. It's not too heavy to carry with me wherever I go, but it's big enough to do some chopping.

Here's a pic in hand:

Hi Wildewinds -

Cool pic -

That is another great JK knife -

I wonder how that would look with a nice Maple Burl handle? :D

Mine looks like the one in the pic. I bet it would be gorgeous with maple handle. The thumb ramp I use for scraping small shavings to make tinder. I SERIOUSLY consider this to be the perfect camp knife. I have a Becker Campanion and the two are similar, with my Lobo getting the nod for more use.

Thanks for the replies and pics. This knife is on my short list of 'must have' blades... if you all know what I mean. I keep working to sell some of my safe-queens so I can place an order... but sales are slow on my end right now.

Hey 'Ol Bud....The LOBO is just flat out AWSOME !!!! I love my LOBO. It fits my hands perfect (I have big hands) & the thumb ramp makes this beast a little easier to tame on the smaller tasks. I got this knife for a camp knife but after I got it, it's my everything knife. It's built like a tank but it's not to heavy to wear on your belt all day:thumbup: John makes a Sweet knife, This was supposed to be my "LAST FIXED BLADE" but after I got it this model, There are a couple more of Johns knives that I plan on getting this year :D
Now for the Pics of my "LOBO" -
