Aloha ALL,

Alrighty...so I got tired of carrying my broken 'biner Chadrambit loose in my pocket. I was flipping my SpyderFly while pondering which clip I could use from one of my knives to "mutilate" and add to the Chadrambit...I say mutilate because the pivot screw has a rather large head, so whatever clip I chose, would have to fit under it with some shaping done around it to keep it in place. There was NO way I was gonna try to thread the G10 with one of my two or three screw clips! I just don't have the tooling to do so, or perhaps I was just too lazy.

It was already dark here in Hilo when I closed up my SpyderFly and was just gonna call it quits on the thought of adding a clip to my Boker Plus Chadrambit. But then...I looked at the clip on the SpyderFly...Hmmmmmmmmmm.

No pun intended, but I said, "Screw it!" and made a mad dash to the shed, grabbed my "ever mutilating" Dremel tool, and proceeded to make some grooves in the G10 after removing the pivot screw on the Chadrambit. No measuring, no nothing...strictly by eyeballin'. Didn't help that I had to do so in a low light area, but like I said..."Screw it!"

ANYWAY...so here is the "final" result. oddly enough, the pivot screw holds the clip in place very well. I was gonna epoxy the clip in place, but decided not to, since I will most likely take this clip off once Boker adds a clip to the Chadrambit model. (Even though the SpyderFly flips better without it!) I have my broken 'biner Chadrambit rigged for LFP carry, tip down. Ugh. However, I have been known to carry RFP knives in my LFP and "gravity drop" them into the reverse grip, so...

I placed it in my RFP, and upon the draw, opened it with my ring finger and transfered index finger into the ring. Took a few tries to get it "down", and in the vid demo it looks like it got waved out of pocket, but that is impossible due to the carry position. The wire clip from my SpyderFly holds snug...a bit too snug. But better that than a loose grip on the pocket...

I was curious if it was possible to draw the Chadrambit in such a manner to get it into a Karambit grip "quick enough", but more so to see if the clip would get in the way of manipulation. I gotta practice to get faster on the draw and transfer into grip, (kinda hard to do fast while filming with my digi-camera in my left hand though!!!) BUT the clip did not get in the way one bit. I tried some LFP draws, straight into a forward grip, pinky in ring, and that went VERY well...

Enjoy the video, and towards the end, I show my broken 'biner...but it still manipulates well even though! Dangerous I know, but...cripes, ya gotta remember where I work!!! And yes, my clip addition sucks, but at least now I can carry my Chadrambit again.

God bless and mahalo everyone!

Looks good, Chad. Seeing a k'bit with TD clip is kinda bizarre, though.

Aloha Ter,

Right you are sir...BUT I can get it into the "KaramGrip" faster than every other opening EXCEPT waving it when carried and opened in the manner shown.:o Cripes...that is pretty bizarre also, huh?:p

God bless and thank you also potter!!!

Another BTT...I wonder when the reinforced version with the clip is gonna be ready?

Where the heck has Marketing been? Hanging out with Man of Iron???:D
