Aloha ALL,

Well...had some time to carry the XS, and i apologize for two things right off the bat: No tip down option, and the missing lanyard hole. I coulda sworn I told Boker about the lanyard hole...

That being said, I think in tip down, the XS would be a bit easier to open one handed. I can do it and although the backspring is stiff...it can be done easily. I showed it to some knife folks here and it's funny because after they open it, they are looking for someplace on the knife to "unlock" the blade!:D

Not being biased, but I think the XS is a very comfy knife. I cut up boxes, tape, envelopes, fruit, etc...and it handled all chores well and at no time did I feel like the knife was going to close up on me. Speaking of closing...

This is the one thing I will not one handed anymore with the XS for the simple fact that by using my index finger to close it, the blade gets a bit too close to the meaty portion of my palm...and man, does this thing shut with authority!!!

About the titanium finish, i cut some oranges for some, "not abandoned by choice" piglets that I discovered in the forest area of my yard, and did not wipe off the blade. This was two days ago, and the blade has no signs of the "OJ" eating through it's finish. Nice...especially in my environment.

I think the XS would make a heck of a lockback...however, this is my first production slippy made for those subjected to ridiculous knife "laws".

I thank you all again...God bless and take care!

Oh yeah, some pics:

Thanks for the pics Chad. The handle looks like a good fit. Sometimes folders with a choil get caught in between where gripping "up" on the knife feels too far forward and dripping "down" feels too far back relative to its size. The XS in your hand looks natural gripping in the choil.

P.S. - MotoGP starts this weekend in Qatar!

Ahhhhh my knifebro,

Howzit going? Thanks for the cool reply...and for reminding me about the upcoming moto GP!!!

Take care and God bless!

Chadmeister! Long time no see! Good to hear from you again.

These are the first in-hand pics I've seen of the XS and it looks a lot bigger than I thought it would (which is a good thing). Thanks for the nice pics.

Well done - and I really do mean, well done. This design to me seems just about perfect.

I like choils; where you can choke up on the blade and really do detail work. The thumb stud looks to be about the right height, but my preference is "low as possible". (I've had issues with studs snagging my pocket on drawing the knife, and while I've never been in a life-or-death situation [thank God], it's still a real pain to have to put something down to 'un-snag' my cutter.)

It sounds like you (or Boker?) gave it a nice, strong spring, too. IMHO, there's no need for a lock on a utility user, if the spring is strong enough.

I like your chunky little cutters, but I like this one better.

ps - by the way, how thick is the blade?

While getting my Trance out of its long vacation I was looking at some other cool knives to buy/put on the to buy list.

Seems the list just got a bit longer, I really like the way it looks and it's also nice that its a slip joint. Since it looks kinda similar to the Trance (style wise) its fun it has a different working.

Don't mind only having a tip up option since that is how I carry my knives anyway.
My only gripe is the clip should ride lower. The Trance does this better, I would even more like a lowrider clip.

Don't quite understand why (almost) no knife company doesn't put those things on as standard. Not a jab at Boker or you Mr. Chad; you provide the lowest riding clips I know of.

I call this one another CLB winner design. I just wish there were a more "sheeple-friendly" length that wasn't black coated.
