About Pakistani Knives.
Let me explore you with some information. Different people have different opinions. As I am Pakistani, I lived and grow in a city called as city of cutlery city of knives. As I observes on different platforms that Pakistani knives craftsmanship are being insulted. Being a protective about my culture I want to tell this.
If we talk about quality, no doubt the quality of USA knives are excellent. They have extraordinary materials. USA knife industry is advance and expensive.
Reason for cheap prices of Pakistani Knives.
Cheap labor and cheap methods and cheap energy resources
Reasons behind lack of quality
Limited Material Options
Advance machinery is not available
Little profit margin
This is all about.
With the time, Knife market is growing and managing the quality

I've been collecting knives for 40 years and I have never seen a Pakistani knife that was decently made.

I've certainly seen lots of scams from said makers.

Garbage knives made from garbage materials marketed as a quality product made elsewhere.

Some of the finest metals come from ships.

So why isn't the Gadani ship-breaking yard passing along the expensive steels?

Why use the semi-stainless crap, that's getting dumped on tourist trinket knives?

I recently had the joy of sharpening one of your knives. It was junk. But you know that.

How many more decades will it take for y'all to produce a real knife? Because, excuses isn't getting it done.

As Mr. Abaid implied, the Pakistan cutlery industry is working under some significant handicaps, relative to countries with more industrial infrastructure.

The kinds of knives we scoff at as being "Pakistani" will always have a place among people who just want something nice to look at, and don't care about the steel, the heat treat, or the country of origin.

I've been to enough niche interest forums to know that each one has their consensus favorite, and a designated punching bag. Maybe several. It seems to be human nature to sort things into hierarchies, and it is no different with knives, flashlights, cars, saws, axes, and so on.

If anything, we're the outliers, with our focus on minute details and our endless comparisons of blade steels and lock types. Until the knife industry in Pakistan employs CNC milling and PID-controlled heat treating furnaces, you're going to have a long, uphill battle to try and change the collective opinion of Bladeforums, and I reckon it won't be worth the work.

well i try with good communication skills. thanks
Welcome to bladeforumns. Just want to say I respect your pride of being from Pakistan and understand wanting to defend what your country is able to produce. I do the same and only purchase American made knives. I’m sure there are true knife enthusiasts in Pakistan that are doing their very best to produce the best knives possible given the circumstances.

With all due respect and I'm not disrespecting this gentleman or his country. But in my opinion I would never buy a Pakistani knife. The quality is unacceptable, and that I refuse to buy, less than top quality cutlery. Let's face it most everything as far as cutlery that comes out of Pakistan is on the verge of junk. Again no disrespect to the op.

Thank you for sharing your experience

That is true. However when you hear "Pakistani knife" it's probably going to result in some scam, or some lies.

I notice you certainly don't dispute the poor quality of your knives.......you seem to accept it..........?
Okay. Thank you for sharing your experience

You probably would’ve said the same thing about china just a few years ago. Now everyone gushes over them. Obviously, Pakistan is no China but anything could happen.
