I'm a new guy here n I'm very love Emerson knives although I didn't have one, but I would like to get some recommendation about purchase a Emerson knife. Here's a few questions which I really hope someone could answer me.

I heard that the quality of knives made by Emerson after 2002 is not that good as before. Is that real?
Are there any ways can get a Emerson knife which is made before 2002?

I'm really glad to know the ans or more information about it. Thanks anyway

I've had 3 Emersons, all made after 2010, and the quality has been fine. I've had no issues of performance or F&F on any of them. I'm scouting for numbers 4 & 5 now. The lockups were early and very solid, the blades were centered, the knives were reasonably sharp O-O-B, and the action was smooth, although a bit stiff, on all of them. That's all I look for when I buy a knife.

You can find early model Emerson's if you're willing to wait, and pay. Best bet is to put a WTB in the subforum here and see if anyone is selling.

I've never had any issues with any of my Emersons. Ernie stands behind his knives should you ever have a problem.

Naw, naw man, you must be thinking of Cold Steel. Any coating on a knife will come off with use over time. You can't use anything in this world without it showing wear over time.

Rev is right, but Emerson's coating is as durable as any I've had. The DLC on my beater Para 1 is scratched up after a lot of use. My Emerson doesn't scratch up any more than my Spydercos.

Thanks dale, I planing to get a commander or cqc-8 now:D

yep!^ And like I said, never sell them. You'll just go back!

I heard that. Have a Horseman and a 7 and I think i'm hooked. Customizing the 7 as its the waveless model. Replaced the thumbdisc with a .40S&W casing. Think next i'll drop a SteelFlame clip on it.

But yeah picking my next one will be difficult.

Cool.^
At one time, I had some of my Emersons pimped. No more. I like them stock.
