Hello,

im not much of a Randal Historian to the point of colector knowledge, but i do remember reading about Randal contracting and having Soligen Blades made to fasilitate demand during ww2,or maybe im wrong?

but i do Know that Bernard Levine could probably answer that one in his SLeep, might ask him on his forum to be 100% sure.

Randall knives have never been made in Germany. During the war, Bo Randall sometimes used blades from Solingen,Germany but the handles were put on in Florida.

And what is F1-4? That is not a Randall knife number.

You can email Gary Randall from the Randall website- www.Randallknives.com.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

When I hear "The War" mentioned, I tend to think of WWII. Since we were fighting Germany, Randall didn't send many blade contracts to Solingen at that time. During the Vietnam War they did have blades for some of their combat knives made in Germany. You could get those knives off the shelf in less time. These were newer designs that looked more like survival knives than the fighting knives and daggers of WWII.

Randall used blades From Solingen, during the early to late 60's . The blades were Stainless and Marked Solingen along with the Randall Trade Mark. These knives were for the most parts models 14,15,16,18. A couple of years back, Randall took some blades that were in storage from that period and ground a new profile on them. Thes knives have a chute knife appearence, all these I have seen have a stag handle.
