Ever since I decided to discontinue them I have been getting emails about it. I have decided to do two hawks a month. What this means is a possible longer wait, but if you really want one it should not be a problem.

And those of us procrastinators might finally get around to ordering one. It will still be awhile for me though. Step-son is getting married and I want to do something special for my wife's anniversary in March.

Although I don't have one yet, I think your hawks are fantastic tools. Everybody needs one.

Good stuff John. I happen to have ordered 2 from you and love them. I'm glad your keeping them on the line up.

I'm glad i saw this thread. I was sad last night not seeing any hawks on JK's website.

I just added them here and on my site, with specs and pricing.

I had a Hawk cancelled for November. I have the material on hand, if anyone wants to grab the spot. It would be done late in November.

I'm all set on the November slot, but can you post or email me some pics of the hawks you still offer? on your "knife models and pricing for 2012" thread you only show the urban spike and cassam. I need to figure out which one i want next. I have yet to get one of your knives, but the hawks are addicting!!!

Modified Urban Spike Hawk

Those are the ones I can think of...

Did I miss any?

I need to do a good review of the DBH (Defensive Battle Hawk) -

I had the idea for a "hawk", but I did not want it to be like a hatchet - I wanted something that I could have at the house for defense if necessary, but yet something that would still be usable for chopping and general duty.

With Mr. K's help, I came up with the design for the DBH - It is very nicely balanced, is tough as any tool you have ever owned, it is very handy in many ways, and it is just plain MEAN!

My initial pass at a design

The girls just love a DBH!

I asked to have the handle "super skeletonized" to make the DBH head-heavy.....I hear that Mr. K was seeing dots for a few days after his drilling session on the DBH....

I designed the spike at the top to be an additional piercing / slashing edge - it is sharpened on all sides.

I also specified the bulb at the end of the handle to provide additional grip and to allow gripping at the very bottom for better swing speed.

I can say that I am VERY happy with the DBH, and it sits on our counter - My wife Maggie likes having it around the house as it gives her a little extra confidence.

thanks Nick!

The "flanged" edge is for wrapping and pulling - say you overshoot the target; you just yank it toward you and the sharp edge will "dig in".

The back side is intended to penetrate hard materials - or tires etc if necessary.

In addition, we have used the point at the tip to stab coals/firewood to move the fire from the fire pit to the cookers when at gatherings.

The "scandi" edge also can be used for notching and making fuzz sticks - I have done it!

Of course I am biased - I love the DBH - but I also love the Cassam Hawk - it's nice to have excellent choices!

I would love to see another DBH made - someday someone will have one made.

mqqn - that's one of the most original and well thought out designs I've seen on the forums! With that profile it looks like you could generate quite a bit of speed in your swing. Are you into hawks as well or is this your first? Either way, bravo, that thing is bada$$!

Thank you! I like the hawks, and find them useful. This is my first custom one, and my first attempt at a design - although in the end it was a lot of Mr K's talent that made the tool such a winner.

I really appreciate your kind comments!
