I've read Chad's thread and see the picture and here is some thought:

How about put the biner on the opposite side? Sometime the ring part can be used as knuckle and biner is kind in the way. And instead of thumbstuds, maybe thumbhole will be easier for opening with little finger

I know the where the 'boner is currently placed, it is located somewhat "near" the striking area of the ring. A slight forward tilt prevents the 'biner from getting the way of strikes. Also, by placing the 'biner on the opposite side, it *could* get in the way of the brake area.

No opening holes for me...as much as I love them, I respect Sal's company too much to do so. However, removing the stud and placing attaching a zip tie to the hole where the stud was, makes for easy waving...er, just a FYI if anyone decides to go that route.;)
