About those left-handed models...

A few months ago, I wrote asking about the possibility that Camillus might try making left-handed versions of their EDC. Maybe even their CUDA Maxx. Will was nice enough to let me know that Camillus had made left-handed models in the past, but they weren't big sellers. In some other thread on some other forum, I heard that all of Camillus' left-handed folders had partially-serrated blades. Is this true?

Could Camillus be willing to risk left-handed test runs of the 154CM EDC and Cuda Maxx with plain-edged blades? The previous test-run seemed intentionally doomed to fail if the models were only available as partially serrated.

Hey Thom, can't speak for the good folks at Camillus but I did finish a lefty Solar Arc with Snakewood recently for a dear friend of mine. She had done some work for me and rather than being paid in cash asked for a special commission knife! It was the first lefty I have made and plan to do another very soon. Will keep you informed. ;)

Thanks, Peter! Guess I'd better start saving. Watch me find a left-handed Solar-Arc to be a completely indispensible knife (though I normally am a pointy-wharncliffe flat-grind user) and then our pals here will release lefty versions of the EDC and CUDA Maxx which will also be must-haves. Well, I'll watch.

I'm also a lefty hoping for a left handed Maxx! I also would like to see a plain edge design instead of a combo-edge. I do hope some left handed models are made.

The next best case would be having holes (from the factory, a la Spyderco and Benchmade) on other side of the handle scale so that it may be clipped to the left pocket (righties may want this, too, so it may be used as an off-hand tool). Even though the lock release would not be lefty friendly, I would be more concerned with proper grip/orientation when drawing.

I guess we'll have to wait, hope, and see.
