Abrasive/Belt Cleaning Sticks?

Anyone else use these? I picked up one when I was at the wood store on Tuesday. I have a bunch of belts that are still sharp, but had been gummed up with wood dust or micarta, and this seemed to do a rela good job of cleaning those up. I don't quite claim to realy understand how it works, but all I know is that my pretty red belts that were full of white micarta dust are now red again. think it was $8 at the local shop, and can see that that'll pay off quickly with the longer use I can get out of belts with it.

Yup!, They do work great. I used a pair of old sneakers before i got a couple of the sticks thrown in a belt order.
