I have never done a blasted blade finish. I met a guy close-by that does some beautiful working knives that he blasts with crushed glass.
This puts a nice gray finish on ATS-34 and really makes the grind lines sharp.
He wasn't able to show me how to do it and I don't have time for quite some time to make it back to his shop.
So, are there any secrets? Or do you just put it in the blast cabinet and blast away? Do you have to mask the flats while doing the hollows and then do the flats or vice versa?
I have no experience with a blast cabinet but a friend is ready to give me a cheapy Harbor Freight benchtop model (he says it blows the blasting media everywhere).
Thanks,
Nick
