Hey Bladefans,
We just wrapped on our third annual ABS Symposium at the New England School of Metalwork and it was a GREAT sucess. Dr. Batson, Butch and Cindy Sheely, Lin Rhea, Christof Deringer, JD Smith and Mace made it so great. There was a knifeshow, hands on forging and a cutting competition as well.
The Director of the school Dereck Glaser and I were talking about how much we were embarrased to not have a knife to enter, so with 36 hours to spare we knocked one out. Dereck forged the blade, I designed, ground and HT'd it and Herb Kettell did the cutting....................and we won! Took the title away from Canada in fact!
Even cooler, Peter Ceprano of Big Pete Knives took second and he lives right down the road. That's right! It's our house!
Here's the knife, known as "Beverly Sheer";
I wish I had more complete photos of the demonstrations. I was on the clock, so I was running around like a nut.
