I'd have to say Don Fogg. Tim Hancock at least was at the BAS show in Reno, as was Dan Farr. Nick Wheeler will be at the Blade show I suppose (although I'm not sure he'll have anything to sell).

I've only ever seen one Michael Conner for sale, whether from dealer or other collector, and it was an old one. From what I hear, he doesn't make many currently either. The other makers I've seen stuff by them offered for sale (though they were way out of my range). Also, I'm guessing that their output the last several years are higher than Conner's.

Pete,

Taking into account both the primary and the secondary market, I'd say Andrews, Conner and Neely. I've seen knives for sale of all the others either by the maker, or through dealers and/or the forums (there was recently a Fogg for sale on Knifeart, there are a couple of Hancock right now at Nordic knives, I did manage to get a Cashen from the man himself, plus a Cashen and a Wheeler from a nice fellow forumite with senatorial leanings:), and I think that I remember seeing some Farr hunter for sale on some forum not too long ago). For the others, though, nada .... I voted Andrews, but it would be a tie with other two I mentioned.

Nice poll, I voted for Andrews, but shouldn't this be in the Custom Knives section rather than the Marketplace?

Commodorewheeler,

You are exactly correct. I put it in the wrong spot. I will fix it for the runoff.

Please! There can be only one...Don Fogg.

Heck, I'd kill (OK -- I'd at least think about it) for a Fogg.

My vote would be for Conner at number 1.

I'm nowhere near as desirable as the rest of the bunch, but it makes me feel awfully good to at least be mentioned in the same breath.

I will indeed have a few knives at Blade... 5 for sure... but it looks like a couple of them have been called for quite some time ago.

I would like to earn the, "Mr. wow that little bastard has gotten good 2007" title :D

Don Fogg has the most votes (so far) as the most unobtainable.Right now there are 2 knife dealers with available Fogg knives on their web sites. Most of the others you can get either directly from the maker after a long wait or see now and then in the secondary market.Michael Connor almost never comes up for sale. And I don't remember seeing the last person posting here about a new Michael Connor knife he has received from the maker.I maybe wrong, bit I think the last and maybe only one posting here about a Connor's knife he got from a dealer was, PTGDVC.

Truth is, knives by any of these fine makers are few and far between. But, I have to say that I've only seen one Michael Connor knife for sale, in all the time I've been collecting. Don Fogg's knives come up quite often; you just have to be really quick to be the lucky one who gets it.
