Well, my package arrived today! It just sailed through Customs, without even being opened and arrived in perfect condition. Contained within the package were the three Kershaws that I have been anxiously awaiting, a Spec Bump, a Tanto Groove and a Random Leek. Now, keep in mind that I had never handled any of those knives, so this was all sight unseen.

I have always known that Kershaw knives were excellent, but I never knew just how excellent, until now. These knives are perfect, not close to perfect, but perfect. Perfect centering, perfect fit and finish and perfect design. All came shaving sharp with remarkably smooth opening and closing.

I have Spyderco, Buck and Benchmade knives in my collection and fine knives they are, however, after experiencing the value and quality in these Kershaw knives, I don't believe that I can in future, purchase any other brand. These knives are just that good.

So, my hat is off to Kershaw for producing some of the best knives money can buy and for making me one very happy customer!:thumbup:

That's what brought me here to this forum, too. I bought a Speed Bump (1595AL) a while back, and then a Shallot (1840CKT), and here I am.

Very nice A.P.F. ! Glad customs didn't mess with it.
Those Grooves flip so nice too.

Wow! I'm actually suprised to hear that. (How incredibly happy you are) I never really gave Kershaws a second glance. I've never owned a Kershaw but they just got a lot more of my attention and respect based on your post. I see you've got close to 1600 posts so you're definitely a knife nut. I'll check them out. Be sure to post pics. I'd like to see them.

Welcome, Trowand! There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, that you would find any Kershaw will exceed your expectations. I have more money than I like to admit, invested in knives and I now find myself actually considering thinning out my other brands, just so I can pursue a Kershaw collection. Of course, this opens me up to a flurry of "I told ya so" from my colleagues on the Kershaw Forum, but it is a small price to pay for the pleasure of having one of these beauties in my pocket.

Let us know how you make out. :)

Ken, you will like the Shallot...a lot! I got a black one and will be adding a silver one a bit later.

Just at the moment, I am giving the Tanto Groove some pocket time, but I'll admit that I find it almost impossible to pick a favorite. They are all so good. However, I would have to say that the most frequent occupant of my 'right front' is the Lahar, which is my favorite camping knife.

I hear you with regards to the made in the USA issue. Even though I am Canadian, I too prefer US product. After all, our brothers to the South are our greatest trading partners, so what is good for the States is good for us too. And don't even get me started on the China issue. ;)

@ Everyone - Thanks for all the congrats. It feels great to be a member of the Kershaw family!
