When it comes to electronics.

I sent my buddy the link on Daniels setup to see if he could wire it up for me.
He did. We talked about other guys haveing the same problem. So he ebayed some motors. :D
Variable Speed Motor

This is very similar to what I had before. When you get yours, please let us know.

Looks pretty good, nice that it comes "plug n play".

You guys might remember that I was talking about making a grinder before spring break this year (that is a milestone to teachers). I did complete it and it is a monster (meaning it removes metal and all that very well and I love it). The motor I have on it is a 1½ horse with three way pulleys on both the motor and the mandrel. The motor is mounted on a hinge to give it the ability raising up and down to loosen or tighten the belt. As the motor is raised it will loosen the belt and facilitate the change of the speed/gear quickly.

However, even with all of this versatility, I still wanted more and easier control of the speed. I’ll probably use my existing motor on a hogger machine and use the new motor to make a more versatile finishing machine. For now the new motor will replace the first motor on my first grinder.

My motor is going on a grinder with a McCaffrey Platen from Rob Frink.

You can see a pic of the platen in this article.

KMG

I just bought one too.

Thanks for the tip. I've actually been thinking about rigging up a variable speed motor on a vertical bandsaw to make it more versatile and use it to cut metal. Or maybe I'll just rig this unit up to my KMG grinder... Either way, seems like a good deal - especially for someone like me, who dang near fries himself everytime he tries to wire something
