Abuse and warranty

I purchased a BM-E recently and was wondering how much I can abuse it and still have it covered under warranty. I would like to hear stories about some of your Busse's that were damaged and covered under warranty.

What ever you do to the knife, it his covered by the warranty.

The only exception to this rule I know is if you cut the knife to two using a touch.

The warranty basically covers ANY unintentional damage. Abuse away :D

There has even been a case where a Busse owner over-heated a Busse, ruinining the temper, subsequently broke it under gross abuse, and was covered by the warranty. You won't hear many stories of warranty implementations (atleast for large damage) for a simple reason....there have been VERY few Busses ever broken.

The way I see it, we trust Jerry with our money and he trusts us with his knives. We all know what intentional abuse is and would be hard pressed to expect a man to warranty it. If you heated the knife to destroy its heat treat, cut it with a torch, soaked it in acid until there was hardly anythiing left, rigged it up in a hydraulic press and tried to bend/break it, etcetera. Shove your knife into the dirt at the rifle range and use it as a target and you may face some warranty issues.

On the other hand, chopping, pounding, prying, slicing, dicing, hammering, whacking and all other manner of knife use and misuse is something I thing Jerry would come to expect from the people that buy his knives. These are truly tough use knives with a no BS warranty. That is meant both ways: no BS from ther manufacturer, but no BS from the customer, either.
