What's the worst abuse/heaviest use you have ever put your Emerson through? Have you ever had to use one defensively? Personally, the worst thing my Emersons have ever had to do was defend me from the occasional man-eating box. :p

Blademan

I've cut rope, wire, thin cable. I cut tree limbs attempting to free people from cars wrecked in the woods. I even pried a window open with a SARK. You name it, I'll try it.

I have put a CQC7 through the roof of a car and pounded it around to open a hole large enough to gain access to a car crash patient. The knife was damaged but not terminal. I had to take alot of metal off, but the knife is still awesome and always rides in my jump-bag.

My 98 Specwar has survived my "experiment" with a Dremel and a Polishing kit:eek:

It has cut wire, plastic, wood, rope, vinyl, ME, and been sharpened at more angles than Sir Iassac Newton ever dreamed of and it remains my EDC. Cracked slabs and all!!!

I just bought a Commander, a Mach 1 and a Raven but none will ever live the life this specwar has. What a knife, and what a satin finish!!!!!!!!!!!....wolf

Hi Raye,

I just read the thread. I think you probably won the "It's an Emerson" encounter competition, even before it started... ;)

I've used my CQC6 defensively and the only reason for it's return to Ernie for some work was that it was left covered in blood while in an evidence bag for about 3 months, then I tried to sort it out myself (Bad idea!).

I sent it off to Ernie and he sorted it out in no time. I still carry it today and have no hesitation using it for any purpose.
