Allright, time has come to make a fatality on the corpse of the steel oven hood [or whatever you call it] which I've done some damage to a while ago.
This time I've made some really decent pictures so enjoy...

[you can still send me some chicklets through email :D]

This was a reverse hand stab with all power I had... Managed to pierce the steel like this... So I had to use a hammer later on!

And there was lots of slamming!

2 mm of steel cut through.

No regrets

The INFI:

What did I learn:

- abusing is still so much fun!
- my homemade swedge slightly improved the penetration.
- the handle is really comfortable and secure despite the lack of guard/subhilt, whatever ;)
- infi is not a legend, it's a fact. proving it became my hobby :]
- after all of this the blade managed to cut paper quite nicely, 30 seconds on white rods of spyderco triangle and it's shaving sharp again. no flaws noticed.
- hammering micarta is no good. accidentaly chipped of a little bit :o
- I need more infi... Big infi that is, I'm running out of the ideas how to abuse this little fella here..

Enjoy!

Oh, the humanity of it:eek:

I thought INFI was just for collecting:D

Wow... That's hardcore, nice pics. One of these days I'm going to have to break down and actually buy some INFI for myself.

Knowing what a tool can do adds confidence when performing everyday tough jobs. I have cut buried barbed-wire and other types of fencing in search of property corners while surveying. Digging and prying in close quarters were made easier with my SH-E in spots where a shovel wouldn't fit. I used it to beat a gate off of it's hinges and replace it when I was through. I just wash it up in the sink with dishwashing detergent and a pot scrubbing brush then dry it off and wipe it down with a Tuff-Cloth. Couldn't be easier. Trust your tools.

Damn!!! I don't think we understand the amount of abuse these knives can take!

That's what I'm here for :D

I'm currently trying to find a junkyard with some wrecked cars to open... With this LMS and my friends' custom Busse. There will be more crazy tests in the future so stay tuned ;)

Cyan, would it be possible to get a close-up of your homemade swedge?
That's one thing that I've seen many people here ask about, and I have mentioned that it should be pretty easy to put one on yourself. I have never actually done this, but I wouldn't be scared to either, if I really wanted to do it. Also, please describe how you put the swedge on. Did you use files? A belt sander, etc. Thanks!

The swedge - Well, I used only diamond rods from triangle. Will do a closeup in couple of hours, thou my camera is a really pain in the ass when trying to shoot macros.. It's a really little swedge since I made it without planning anything, I didn't even finish it yet. Not exactly CRK quality ;) but it is fine for me.

One mor thing - click on the pictures to [not only the thumbnails] to enlarge them fully to avoid pixelness, without it the cutting edge does'nt look great at all
