AC Motor question

I'm working on aquiring the final bits for my grinder build, and I'm to the motor part. I've got a 1HP motor, but the shaft is odd. I'm pretty sure it's "5/8" diameter with 1/2"-20 UNF-2A threaded end" which seems somewhat standard on pool pumps (which this is). Does anybody know of anything to adapt this funky shaft to somethign more reasonable like a regular 5/8" keyed shaft? I suppose a piece of 5/8" round with a keyway cut and a 1/2"-20 thread would be a good start. Is it just as simple as doing that?

For a visual reference, it looks like the shaft on this motor.

Dont' see anything there that jumps out at me for this. Maybe I'll try giving them a call.
