Hey Guys,

I am looking for some advice on programming this VFD. It's not my first time wiring one, so that area is good. But this all digital system, is something completely new to me. I went with this over a KBAC27D because, I got a good deal on it.

This will be powering a 1.5hp 3 phase techtop motor that is 3470rpm, and going on a KMG grinder.

There are so many settings on this thing, I am unsure where to set things for knife grinding.

Any advice from those that own this particular vfd?

Thank you!

Actually, for knife grinding few of the fields need to be modified. The default settings usually work OK.

It looks like they are all keypad.

I would want a remote speed knob and reverse switch.

Which manual is yours ?

I counted 10 different models of SMVector drives.[/url]
Bah, sorry I forgot to mention that. ESV112N01SXC

Mines is a Leeson re-labeled version (174654), Leeson calls it the SM4 Vector series. Although the i.d. right on the side of it says smvector. The manual SV01 is also exactly the same as the SV06 (leeson labeled) give or take a few small bits they use under a different model number.

There is a forward/Reverse button on the keypad.

I have one. Do you have the speed potentiometer dial attached?
Not yet, still waiting on it. Unsure why everything else showed up except the potentiometer. My guess is it's shipping from a different location.

Yes

But if it that membrane type keykpad button, they wear out and are more difficult to replace than a simple switch.

Is this this based off your own experience?

I'm sure AC tech would replace or repair it should it fail. I'm not worried about it. Everything wears out, so that's something I accept. Like I said, I got it for a good price.

That reverse button won't work until you program the correct parameter.

As for the settings I changed I over clocked it a little bit and set it to start faster than the default setting. Good thing about those drives is they have a support phone number you can call and talk to a real person.

Yes, it's simple enough to change the parameter. I couldn't grasp it initially from the manual, but understood it better after seeing a video.

Hopefully my potentiometer shows up sometime soon.

Kinda hit a wall on the cosine phi parameter. (P306), is it the same as the (PF) on the motor name plate?
