Obviously, I am not the only one going through the many stages of accepting the death of a loved one. Here in this forum I feel free to compare a factory-American Institution- Manufacturer to a human being I care about. But so much of it is a human factor... You guys, including Steve the web guy (who wasn't with us long enough) & the generations of craftsmen who made our favorite knife. Sooner or later we will all break out of our blue funk, sharing our knowledge, having a bit of fun, keeping up our friendships.

Not sure if I am ready to yet, though.

Don Luis... Time to face facts: The little Schrade Simon I sent to you apparently did not make it. Sorry, I tried my best. I guess the score (since LT did get a good one to you) is:

Mexican customs: 1
Schrade forumites: 1

Have to settle for a draw, this round at least.

Hope you all are well. I trust none of you will let this forum die without a fight. See my post to Spark in the General forum > Blade discussion

As long as there are used socks and ping pong balls, this forum will not fall...

Yes, let´s keep this forum alive, there´s plenty to talk about and a fine group of people who know their Schrades.

Phil, thanks, sometimes things take a long time to get here, perhaps little Simon can still make it (I´m trying to be optimistic), if not, I appreciate it anyway.

I'm gonna be right here. I've really gotten to enjoy the folks on this forum. Knowledgeable, funny, polite.........what a novel place in today's world.

I don't think there will be any problem keeping this forum alive with all the great posters on here that love Schrade!
You know I'm in for sure! ;)

By the power invested in me by... well, anyway... with one of my biggest, baddest Schrade knives (the Bomb Tech Version of the BTO1- has a blunt end for probing for mines and safety during this ceremony), I hereby tap each of you on the shoulder and pronounce you official 'Uncle Henry's Lost Souls'...

Here's your sock, courtesy of LT; here's your pingpong ball, direct from Mexico and Don Luis.

It's obvious to all of us that due to it's long and glorious history, the Schrade name will live forever. Our duties are simple here: Have fun, educate ourselves and each other and any newbies that drop in. And... Although the most priceless thing the Schrade company had was the workers who labored to create these knives, the names Schrade- And 'Uncle Henry', may be the most valuable commodity they still own. It is conceivable either name may be aquired by someone else. Someone has to make sure the standards remain high. Might as well be us, just typical collectors, users and knife fanciers, those who have proven their dedication to the brand.

Now there is a newbie here in another thread seeking info on a little watch fob like Schrade Walden. Let's help him out and recruit another 'Lost Soul', huh?

Phil

Nicely put, Phil.

LT answered two new questions in his best form. Good to see him posting a little more.

I wonder what Schrade will do with any inventory that was on hand?

Bill

probably what allot of others do. Sell it to the buyers with everything else, or auction it off for funds.
