How exactly can you put that clip to good use?

I think I've seen it advertised as its use as a moneyclip but because of its position I think that it makes it more awkward than anything else. It would kinda form an awkward shape when you put it in your pocket.
And you definitely could not clip that to your pocket. The only good use I could think of was to clip it to the visor of my car but after reading Gollnick's reply to a thread about knives in cars I don't think I would do that anymore...

Anyone actually use the clip on theirs?

Hey BOK,

The AccessCard does have a unique clip. The top half of the clip is occupied with lock-oriented requirements. Using it in a conventional sense as you or I would for an EDC on our front pocket is not realistic.

Some practical use applications for the clip would be as a money clip (fold bills twice in parallel folds...will hold a small quantity of bills); brief case or back back (clipping it to one of the standard pockets most of these carry items have); apparel attachment (inside a suit pocket, temporarily on a back pants pocket); or it can be used in a wallet (slide it into a credit card slot...the wallet needs to be a larger one for this to work).

I know people who use this knife as a pocket knife and for the most part do not use the clip.

I hope this has helped and please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks as usual Ron...for this post and the one on the bead blast...you have the quickest response time of anyone I know...

Why bother calling your toll free line?;)

Funny enough , I was just thinking of sending you an email with the same question. I have used the Access card ever since it came out and frequently give it as a present to clients, etc.

Now, I am NOT an enginer and do not claim to know anything about knife design but looking it, is it really necessary to have it on that side? It seems to me that the clip should be on the other side ( You could probably use the same template). I would only keep the cover to the lock on the current side, if needed.

Will await your comments.

Best regards

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the question. You're right. For a right handed person, it would be natural for the clip to be on the other side. But also for a right handed person, the lock release must be on the side which it is.

Lock action is of optimal importance. With practice, one can fling this blade open and closed very quickly one-handed by manipulating the lock release. Accordingly, that lock must stay on its current side and requires the lock mechanism housing.

The clip is integrated into the lock housing. If it were to be put onto the other side of the knife, the AccessCard's slim profile would become anything but slim. Optimal clip placement is most crucial in quick draw, tactical scenarios....one thing the AccessCard is not targeted to be. Accordingly, moving the clip to the lock side was of lesser concern.

So, the current integrated clip/lock housing is the most logical, streamlined solution for the AccessCard. I hope this explanation has helped.

Thanks for the prompt answer.

No matter what, the Access Card is always with me,whether wearing a suit or a pair of denim....and as I stated , it makes a lasting, useful and memorable gift to give away!
