Hello Tech support,
I purchased my membership weeks ago. I recently realized I can't post in "Around the Grinder". After reaching out to the mod of that area I received the following, "put a post in Tech Support and see if Spark has not made your upgrade yet. Sometimes he is away, and it can take a ridiculous length of time. They should be able to sort it out." Am I doing something wrong, or is my access still pending?

You are showing as Gold.
Let's see if it's just Around the Grinder or other membership restricted forums. Try posting in the political forum.
I had thought that a knife maker membership was required in order to post in "Around the Grinder", but that's not what the current heading says.

Around the Grinder

KnifeMaker's Chit Chat Area. For off topic posting, humor, bs'ing, etc for our hard working Knifemakers. Private Forum, posting & response to open to Basic Members & above only.

Only the system admin can address access issues.

I posted that and then removed it after I saw the line from Knarfeng's post.

I was right. Hahahahahaha

🤣 Being married, I only get to say that occasionally.
So your carefully worded post suggests there are times you CAN say you are right to your wife. Lucky man. I lost that privilege the day I got married.

My wife knows that it can't be "The Manchurian Candidate" 24/7/365. Sometimes you gotta let the poor knucklehead feel like he has a choice.

Coming up on 37 years in a week or two.

We've hit 39 yrs of marital bliss later this month. I'm very happy we are having this talk because it reminded me I need to get a gift within the next 5 days. Yikes. And she made it clear that she doesn't want any more power tools (I can't believe a vacuum cleaner is a power tool).

Yep, that's what I saw too. We have conflicting info.

Yabut, Spark has the final word and he gave his input, which matches what Blues and I originally opined. That forum requires a knife maker membership to post in.

Once the server move and software upgrade issues have settled down, that would be the time to address the wording at the top of that forum. But your Gold membership appears to be fully functional.

Think of it as a "member's only" clubhouse. You have the "around the grinder" area to ask questions and participate otherwise. Or, you can up your membership.

Copy That.
When I click Paid Subscriptions, it states my membership expires today. I just paid up maybe 2 months ago, what's going on with that? Also, I can't send a direct message to most members in Shop Talk. Am I not allowed? I think Stacy, the mod of Shop Talk is the only one I can message.

You can only send DMs to members with a paid subscription. If they are "registered members", they can only get DMs from staff.

As to when you're membership is over, only Spark Spark can help you with that. Check your invoice and provide information here, (date, amount, how paid).

Transaction date on my MC was 6/19/24, so, it should expire next June. Ironically, now Bladeforums shows the correct expiration date. Maybe some software changes/updates were taking place.
As to the DM situation, I had not realized the preferred recipient was a "registered members". All good now, thanks.
