Inquiring minds want to know ... what is being used for light duty storage lets say for EDC options
I'd like something to go on top of a Chest that has a few drawers and maybe a lift top & open compartments . Saw something called the Admiral but they were sold out

Need to hold 5-10 Knives , a few flash lights , a couple of watches , wallet , keys etc..

I have 2 Klipsch towers in my bedroom. On top of each is a shoe box with a CRK cloth to line the bottom of each shoebox. In one I keep my carry folders and the other is filled with random other stuff. The knives that don’t really get carried just sit in their boxes for the most part and I keep my fixed blades somewhere else.

Not very fancy, but it’s free. The CRK cloth is a decent touch to a shoebox. I’d like to get an actual storage unit for knives at some point, but my current apartment is pretty cramped ATM

Even places like Marshall’s and TJ Maxx get larger jewelry/storage chests/cases that are useable for knives from time to time. Some don’t even look like jewelry boxes and can be had for cheap.

I use one for my vape crap like batteries and mods, but a couple dozen folders at least would fit. I think it was $30-40. Not antique oak or even solid wood, but not an eyesore either.

In my world, the cigar box reigns supreme.

Currently, I have one box from Van Dyck Perfectos and a wooden box from Mark Twain Cigars.

There's no "organization" to them, just lift the lid and there's a bunch of stuff piled in there.

But it's a touch more stylish than simply having that stuff haphazardly piled onto the end table.

I use cigar boxes. I can usually go to the local cigar shop or total wine. I've been total wine a couple times and they had ten+ for sale.

I was a Cigar box aficionado when I smoked them ! Still have a ton of those boxes .

regarding the Gerstner I actually have 1 real Gerstner in mint shape with cover! and 2 knock offs one is in work shop the
other holds fishing tackle and the minty one is somewhere - They would be perfect but the 'wife " factor is very low .

This needs to be in our bedroom so need a discreet storage solution . Currently using a nice but smaller jewelry style black chest
found it in bed bath place , it's pretty good lift top compartment and small drawer below -- should have bought 2 of them

I use a Husky (Home Depot) 20 inch, 3 drawer, metal tool box, added some cushy shelf liners so the knives wouldn't get scratched up, and added a desiccant pack to each drawer to help absorb moisture. Store sku 269-900. I would link a photo but HD doesn't sponsor the site. Currently $45, I paid $30 for mine back in the day. Lowes, Menards, Sears, or Harbor Freight should have similar items.

Any metal tool box with sliding drawers made to hold tools would be a good option. The top usually flips open to handle thicker or bigger items. Plus you can always grab it by the handle and take it with you if needed.

EDIT: Ok, totally missed the previous post of discreet storage. A metal tool box sitting on a dresser probably doesn't qualify.

I know you want something "nice". But I use a plastic drawer divider (like for kitchen drawers perhaps) with a single open space and just leave my regular carry knives in that or they might lie on my desk. But my desk gets a bit cluttered and sometimes things turn up missing for a while. I need a scissors!!! Where is my fricking scissors? When that happens, I turn to knife. :D

I keep a three layer drawer type thing I picked up at a home center for knick knacks... spare lighters, shoe strings, a pack of screws I just bought, etc. or it could easily fit knives. But not fixed blades.

I use -- and love -- my wooden machinist's tool chest. I see them on Ebay for $75-$100 under various names, but try a search like "trinity wood toolbox."

I took the lid off of mine so I could use the top storage area as a valet try. The drawers are felt-lined and a nice size for knives, and the ruler on the front door is surprisingly handy (though I wish it were numbered).

As I've downsized my collection it's become kind of a catch-all gadget chest. It's full of a mix of knives, knife tools, flashlights, batteries, fids, etc.

Nalpak sells cases and foam with cutouts for all sizes of Pelican cases and military ammo boxes.

I just bought Kaizen foam and cut out my own slots for knives and watches for a Halliburton case I already own. It is much lighter than a pelican case and I just had to buy the foam from Amazon.

Another nod to the ol' cigar box. I keep two in the top drawer of my dresser. One holds my regular rotation of edc knives/tools, the other a bunch of misc. small stuff such as Zippo's, lights, thumb drives, etc.

I've also used cigar boxes to make custom presentation cases for pistols, knives, and various other items. Makes great, unique gifts for friends and family.

Any cigar shop will have a wide array of empties in all shapes, sizes, and quality. Some places will charge you $10 for a really nice box, some will just give you them.

Cegar box can usually be had for free at least around here. Got several with the edc folders inside, several with the fixed blade weekend knives.

Craft stores like the previous comment said plus other online retailers sell hinged glass topped shadow boxes, sometimes called jewelry boxes. I'm currently using one for the most carried knives, and a smaller one for lights.
