Accessories for Air Compressors

Hey everyone-

I'm the new beneficiary of my father-in-law's continuous garage-workshop upgrade program. Two days ago, he called me and asked me to come pick-up his old air compressor (which he's replaced with an even bigger monstrosity).

So, my question for you more "air-compressor-savvy" folks is: what type of cool accessories are available for this thing? This is my first one and so far, besides finding space for it in my garage, all I can do is blow dust and inflate bicycle tires.

I spent quite a few years with Senco Products which was started by some of my family years ago and today is the world leader in pneumatic nailers and staplers, which is one of the first things I would suggest getting....Other than being very handy to have around, Loads of fun Makes any building project easier.

Go spend some time at your Sears store, they have a pretty good selection of all kinds of toys....I mean tools

What are the specs on the compressor? size, power etc...

I check the compressor and the specs are as follows:

SEARS, 1HP, 100 PSI TWIN CYLINDER COMPRESSOR
Tank Size: 12 gallon
Air Delivery: 6.9 SCFM at 40 PSI
Displacement: 8.5 SCFM

It has served my father-in-law well for many a year; and hopefully will for me too!

I'm off to Sears tomorrow after work!

Buy a mini die grinder. You can get straight or right angle (I prefer right angle). Using various bits and wheels you can do all sorts of things (cut, shape, de-burr, grind, polish, clean).

Once you use it you'll wonder how you previously got by without one - it is a very versatile tool.

Start out with a set of grinding bits (Sears has a set) and a padded arbor that accepts round screw-in pads. The screw-in pads are what I use the post. There are various grits of sandpaper and Scotch Brite pads that can be used for everything from material removal and shaping to fine polishing and cleaning.
