Accidentally ordered a BK10

So I ordered some scales from Dale at TKC. I didn't realize I had a BK10 in my cart from my registered user profile and I submitted the order.

I was thinking about getting my brother an Esee LS, but I guess he'll be getting this BK 10 instead ;)

I think I'll strip it and patina it for him before I give it to him.

My Bk12 :)

Dale is great. I have ordered an Esee 4 SS from him and a few sets of his scales in the past. Pretty sure I got a DPx from him as well. If he stocks it, I almost always order from him first.

Difficult story to believe; but I won't belabor that point.
Why would you strip and patina a knife you are giving as a gift (as opposed to gifting that same knife, NIB)?

The old accidental order story - used that one many times my own self!

Keep the 10 for you.........and still buy the Esee LS for him! You will thank me later.

True story: I bought a Glock weaponlight ON SALE, brought it home, and found I didn't have a rail on my Glock. So I went right back to the shop and bought a Glock 20 to go with it. Mmm, 10mm goodness.

Kinda like when you see a good deal on a scope and then you have to go out and buy a rifle to go under it! :D

I don't think my brother would do it. I was thinking I would etch something on the blade. Make it cool and personal.

He is getting married next month, so I figure I'll give it to him before then.

Your brother, your gift, your call.
What do you have in mind, as far as etching? (just curious)

Your opening post reminded me that I still have a set of TKC scales sitting in an unopened bag, in a box, in a corner - having no sense of purpose because they are not attached to a full sized Becker - I should remedy that. Some of the comments above seem to indicate that I should buy something new for them. I'll have to give this some thought.
Hope your BK10 project turns out well.
