The fairly recent spike in quality and materials from Kershaw really caught my interest over the past year or so, and I've finally started buying some of the blades I've been closing researching and handling at shows.

The first I bought was a JYD I. I handled one at a show and loved it, so I ordered one. The design is neat and the action is cool, but the blade was off-center and it had a bit of play in the blade, and that sort of killed it for me. I traded it to my girlfriend for my Subcom I gave her a while back. She was delighted with the trade due to the "sweet skills" she has developed with the JYD. I liked it, but my standards for knives have gotten too high to tolerate the somewhat sloppy fit and finish mine had.

Next i bought a pink Leek for my girlfriend, not much to say about this classic.

Finally, I bought a Mini Cyclone in ZDP and TI. Wow! I am completely blown away by the quality, materials, features and fit and finish of this knife at this price point. This is simply the finest production knife I have purchased since my Sebenza, and that's saying a lot. I really can't say enough about it. Thanks, Kershaw

Now to continue my quest for a ZT 300 with no stripes on the blade.

Welcome to the drug called Kershaw. The MC Ti/ZDP got me hooked, too. I'm up to 19 now. They have come a long way, and IMHO are now at the top of the heap for quality, innovations and customer service.

The ZT300 in all black was a TAD Gear exclusive. According to Kershaw, they're going to do the run again, but no dates. That one is on my "must have" list, too.

Enjoy your MC...and check out the Tyrade!

...and check out the Tyrade!

;) turns out he wasn't too fond of the tyrade. I admit, the first time I saw it in Blade I thought the design was a bit odd. It was the technology behind the blade that got me hooked. It was definitely NOT a first impression sale for me.
