last year was The Year of The Rat. Interesting. So many cool things have come out in 2009 and been accounced for 2010, seems like we need to readjust Chinese Astrology for correction. :D

It is interesting that each of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac have a motto, as it were. The Rat is simply, "I rule."

How appropriate... :)

Excellent !
Nothing by chance !
Unfortunatly there is no year of the Ant... ;-)

Too bad their isn't a cockroach. Saw a documentary about them and have come to really be in awe of their capabilities. They're still gross though.

I don't know about all these calendars. I am told that according to the Mayan one we only have three years left until the end of the world.

The prediction of the end-of-the-world is just an interpretation of the mayan calendar. Just because it ends, doesn't mean the world will end. Just like how one year ends in a calendar, and the next begins. :D

If they could predict the end of the world so well, why can't they predict the end of their civilization?

That's pretty cool, I've seen those calendars before but never noticed the rat before. Nice heads up Don!

Interesting. I bought my first RAT knife in 2008 and I was born during a year of the rat (1960) which was a "metal" rat year according to the chinese zodiac.

I was born in August of 1968 which means I am an Earth Monkey, a/k/a, Joezilla's Logo in his signature line. I know, I know, it's supposed to be a Woodsmonkey, but something gets lost in the China-Mart translation and all...
