Hi folks,

I've seen some of the threads in the past regarding the pros and cons of the different epoxies and thought I'd try some Accraglass on an hidden tang knife I'm working on, in lieu of the devcon 2 -ton this time.

My question - what's the best source for accraglass?

Thank guys,

Suggestion if you are looking for something a little more substantial than run of the mill epoxy...try "Marine Tex". It is a rather thick, industrial epoxy that is dark greyish/black in color and is strong enough to glue two eels together. You can buy it at any marine supply. It is mixed in a 5:1 ratio and when cured can be drilled, sanded, shaped, etc...sort of like JB Weld, only a good bit stronger. It is serious stuff. I use it on difficult to glue situations and it does extremely well. The cure can be accelerated by putting it under a heat lamp (or any other source of heat) and it will kick over in about 20 minutes.

I learned about this incredible stuff from gunsmith Kenny Jarrett, who uses it to glass bed his famous rifles. I use it as well to bed my rifles, with great results.

Cost: About $25 for about a half-oint of the stuff....well worth it.

my two cents worth.

Good luck,

Hank Hammond
