Well another ACE show is behind us. And this one was as good or better than the last one. It seemed to me like all involved were having a good time. This year we did the daytime part of the show at my shop before moving on to the banquette room, I will give a little description as I post the pics I would like to thank all of the collectors who came and helped to make this such a great event.

I got the morning started with a little damascus demo

Then we did some cutting with the knives that would be given away that night. first Mike Rader showed us how it was done.

Lorien there was a few kids there. and we let them play in the fire at lunch they had so much fun that next year we will have a shop and let then play in the fire all day. A shop that the demos are not going on in. And one at time the makers will go over there and keep them pounding. they are going to love that.

Thanks for the pics Dave - looks like a most enjoyable event. I would love to see some more shots of the knives if you or others have them.

Roger

Dave,

This was a great event and I learned a lot. The information that ALL of the maker's shared really helped me and I am sure other's gained valuable appreciation of your craft. I enjoyed every minute spent at your shop as well as the banquet. A real classy group of makers and quite a few collectors, all very nice. I know I will be back next year, you can count on that.

I cannot wait until my knives arrive, but do have some photos I can post in the upcoming days.

Thanks for everything, Jon

Looks like a fine time was had. Thanks for the pics. What's better than a day in the shop with friends followed by a good meal?

BTW: Do you have a close up of your feather pattern heads?

Gary

I wish I had known of such an event right over the mountains from me. It looks like it was a great time for all.

Dave,
I've already thanked Tom for inviting me, and now I'd like to thank you, too, for putting up with all of us!
It was a pleasure finally meeting you, even though I've watched your work for the last few years.
I've met Jon Christensen over the years, and gotten to talk with Mike Rader, too. And I think, a loooong time ago, I met M Vagnino in Pasadena a couple of years before Blade West moved north.
And as Jon Klein said, this was a terriffic event which demonstrated much of the knife making process, as well as allowing for an intimate interaction with several great knife makers in a relaxed atmosphere... Not to mention while serving up several incredible meals! I ate more on Saturday than I'd eaten all week!
Most of all, though, was the chance to interact with five very talented makers and numerous class act collectors!
I know I didn't get to meet them all, but I was too busy standing in the back trying to suck up as much experience as I could!
Fantastic time for me, and I truly hope to see y'all next year?!?!?! :D
Thanks, guys, for putting on one heck of an experience!

Thanks Jon it was good to have you there and we all enjoyed meeting you and I had a very good time hanging out on sunday. Joe it was good to meet you too, and it sounds like i might see you again at OKCA, in a few days looking forward to it. Gary, I will go and see what I can find. I found the pics but for some reason Manage attachments will not up load my files I will try again soon .

Roger Mitch Lum took some nice pics I will show them as soon as I get them. I will show the knife pics that I took But the new home site is not working for me I will keep trying.

Haven't heard anything but great things about Tom's shows.
Always beautiful knives there.
Seems these small format shows are really doing well.
Really hope to get up there in the not too distant future.

WE are all hoping we can get you there next year Kevin and I will make sure that you have a good time.

Thanks Dave.
There's no doubt I would have a good time with the fine knives and especially hanging out with you guys.

Gary This is the best shot I have for now but Mitch is working on them
