Acid Etching KA-BAR MK1

So I just bought a KA-Bar MK1 and i wanted to acid etch it but I'm not skilled enough to remove the handle confidently and I was wondering if there's any way to acid etch it without affecting the bolster and handle.

P.S. Sorry if there's already a thread on this I did not see it
 
Welcome to the forum. You'd probably have better luck with a question like this in the maintenance, tinkering and embellishment subforum.
 
YES !

I will be right back with a link to a Wunderously wonderful book that I have had since I was a kid. They etch knife blades all the time with the handles on.
