acid etching

you guys do this at all? I personally love the effects you can put on a blade through acid etching.

I use ferric chloride to etch and nail polish to keep the etchant off the steel. I can do some cool effects but nail polish is tough to work with and I wish I could create actual images with it but I can't yet.

I've seen wax drippings used in etching but I've never done that myself.

what are your experiences with etching? what do you use? and do you have any pics you can share?

Check out some of the work by Francine (http://www.francineetchedknives.com). If I remember correctly she uses wax and etches with a mixture of sulfuric and nitric acids.

I read the description of the process she uses, it sounds quite tedious. I would love to see something like that in action, I bet you could learn a lot just by watching
