I finally made the "aqua rega" when a high school teacher got me some nitric acid. Now I'm having trouble finding an acid resist. I tried candle wax but it leaked under the edge.
Anyone doing acid etching have a suggestion?
Thanks, Lynn

I use finger nail polish stolen from the wife. It may not be easy to spread it on an entire blade though.

Ditto on the nail polish. I've used my airbrush to coat large areas, but it's dificult to keep the airbrush from clogging.

Asphaltum aka bitumen paint is easy to find in hardware stores and cleans up easily with turps.

Ray, I got the soft without knowing better. It works for what I need. I think the hard is better if you want to scribe through the resist with something like writing.

Thanks for all the replys. You people are really helpfull!

Ferret, You said "Asphaltum aka bitumen paint is easy to find in hardware stores and cleans up easily with turps." Is that listed on the label as part of the make up?

Thanks all, Lynn
