Question on the potential to remove an acid wash on a delica. Receiving a Hap40 blade later this week that was acid washed. Wondering if a regrind will take it off. Anyone have experience with this? Not sure how deep the acid wash goes typically.

thanks!

They are typically pretty light, enough that tumbling them with rocks will scratch through the acid, hence the old school dyi acid stonewash look. I have acid etched 3 knives, full disclosure never tried to remove the finish. I suspect it could be easily sanded down though.

Thanks for the feedback. Reassuring to what I was hoping to hear. Cheers

You could probably remove an acid wash with wd40 or Flitz polish too
Good call. I really just want to be expose the Hap40 on the blade so that it can patina naturally. Thinking, I could tape along the lam line and get after it with flitz. Good call.
