I posted this in the Traditional forum a while back, but I figure it would have even more interest here. I picked up this display case from a hardware store that was shutting down. Sadly there were no knives in it, but I think I may have to remedy that. Ultimately, my goal is to fill the display back up, and it looks like I have my work cut out for me.

It's in pretty good shape. There is a torn spot on the top insert, but nothing too serious. I'm actually surprised it isn't a bit more banged up from sitting in the back of the store all this time. So, what do you guys think? Should I go on and try to fill it back up?:D

Hell Yeah! Fill that up...it looks so empty and sad.
I'd love a display case like that for my den. I hope one day I get lucky and find something like that.

tongueriver,

Interesting links. LT sure has quite the Schrade museum going there. I don't think my gf would go for it though. I believe she might choke me if I showed up with another display cabinet;)

Great link, Codger. Now StuntDouble knows what to find. A picture of it when full would be in order.

You can thank Larry (lrv) for the link. That is the Schrade enthusiast's greatest research tool, his Schrade Collector's site which he built and maintains.

http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/

If it pertains to Schrade, Ulster or Imperial and copies of original factory flyers, catalogs and such survive, it can be found there. Likewise he also built a site for Camillus collectors, since they were sister companies.

Anyone with catalogs or promo items to donate (electronically) to either site, please do so. No printed publication has ever been such a rich resource for knife brand collectors to my knowledge. If printed, it would take a 26 volume encyclopedia to hold all that great material.

Thanks Michael, Its only with the help of many folks that its gotten this far.
Weak spots in the documents are the 30-50's timeframes.
A most recent example:
Art sent me a great bunch of Camillus WWII knife drawings and index with some production counts. I'm cleaning up the copies and will let you know when they are posted.

Here is a teaser:

Oh man that is seriously SWEET!!!!

I would do the exact same thing you are wanting to do which is fill the whole display case up with the original knives that were on display in it...Is it labeled by chance as to what model knife goes in which spot ot is it just blank cutouts with no labeling??

I am pretty sure you could send the company an email and they MAY just have a list of which knives were meant to be in that case

Good idea but Imperial Schrade Corporation went tango uniform seven years ago. The links I provided showed a company brochure of the display with knives in place and a list of them. :)

* Tango Uniform is "tits up"....Total Inability To Support Usual Performance

Codger_64,

I'm just trying to fill the front section up. As much as I'd love to fill the back up as well..I think that may be a bit much;)

tinctorus,

Yep, it's labeled as to which model is which. I've already started things off with a 34OT and an 8OT that I happened to own already.

I might see if I can find some in the blister packs as well, since it has a couple of hanging racks on the side as well.

It is good you have a start on the fullup. I am sure the front side will keep you busy enough.

.......Michael, I learn so much more, than about knives from you mate....would you care to speculate...on...whats a ...."Balls Up".....? ...<your response of course will immediately followed up by whats a F Up?>
Love that Display Case...never been able to get one that size posted over here.....pity as I would actually be able to fill it with Mint specimens.. for info I have a pair of those Schrade scissors shown at the bottom of the Display Case from 2003/2004 and they have a sticker 'Made in China'..one of the items Schrade was sourcing from Shanghai in its final years....Hoo Roo.
