Hello- I am new to this forum, and have been enjoying reading the various threads. As a 'newbie', I am a little confused on what the various acronyms mean...I was able to follow some of them, given the theme of the thread- for example, a thread on various carrying options using IWB, which I took to mean inside waist band, and so forth, but I got lost on some of the others, and was curious as to whether or not there is a listing of various acronyms and their meanings anywhere on the forums. Thanks!:)

SS stainless steel
PE Plain egde blade
SE serrated edge blade
CE combination straight/serrated blade
FRN fiberglass reinforced nylon...handle material
CF carbon fiber...handle material......
MBC martial blade craft (knife defense training)

A common Spydie acronym is SFO, stand for Spyderco Factory Outlet. It's the Spyderco store next to the factory in Golden.

Bruceter

I think Sal once mentioned a division of their R&D as being the Spyderco High Intensity Testing dept. But I forget the acronym.

;)

Okay, what about E L U ? By the context, I guess it refers to a tyro around knives, or perhaps just Spydies.

Well, since their is an unusual amount of acronyms associated with Spyderco's products, why don't we try to compile them here? These are a few that popped into my head.
RF/LF: right/left front pocket
IWB: as mentioned, inside waist band
SOB: Small of Back
IBL: Inside belt loop (I know I'm not the first to come up with this, so if anyone else has tried it, chime in.)
DLC: Diamond-Like Coating. The strong black coating on knives like the A.T.R. (yet another acronym!)
EDC: Every day carry, a bracket which most Spyders fill perfectly.
Am I missing anything?
