Acrylic knife handles

I think acrylics can look really cool. The OPs certainly is really well done.

They also feel really nice in the hand - temp stable, durable, and they have a certain feel like grippy but not sticky (until wet). However, I have traded or sold almost all of the acrylic handle knife i have ever bought (all slip joints).

I prefer wood, birch bark and stag or antler.

I do love the glow in the dark handles such as “knifebright” and the handles where burl wood has had all voids filled in with wild acrylic gel.

Not a fan at all of them, but since my reasons are mostly subjective, they shouldn't impact what anyone else does or doesn't like. I strongly prefer G10, micarta or similar.
 
I like clear acrylic over a natural material like abalone or pearl, as you get the beauty and a protective shiny cover. I have a Bark River gents size knife in M4 and acrylic abalone that I've carried often over the years and it still looks fresh.YjwkW0P.jpg

Nothing beats Grip-Tec™, but I should add that it's largely due to the performance. Though it does look nice as well.
