“The worst thing about growing old is that other men stop seeing you as dangerous.”

This is the line in the beginning of the film and it grabs you. I really enjoyed this movie. The acting was not the best, but some of those are real military and not professional actors.

This movie is everything a military movie should be. It is [color:red] pro military. It does not make excusses for the military. It is not some Michael Moore anti goverment, anti military film. It does not make excuses for our military to be warriors. And thats what the military is, warriors.

The action scenes were great, we saw it on the dbox seats that move with the film and it added to the experience.

Is it one hundred percent realistic, no I dont believe so. Was the acting top notch with the newest super duper stars, no.

Did this in any way effect the enjoyment of the film? Heck no!!!

It was like a John Wayne Military film. Ya got a job to do, you do it, and you dont make excuses for it.

The story is modern day and flows well. The characters are like able and easy to keep track of.

If you play any modern shooter games such as Modern Warefare you will find similar things such as maps and some action scenes.

There are some predicable scenes that alot of military movies have but not to the point that it distracted me.

This was one of those films that I did not hear a single conversation or phone call. Not since Black Hawk Down have I experienced this during a movie. You always seem to have someone talking, texting, etc. Not here though.

At the end of the film there were some tears in the eyes of some audience members and something that does not happen often, a standing ovation.

I have never been in the military, Im a strong supporter though. But I will not say it is accurate based on first hand knowledge. I did enjoy it and would see it again on the big scene without hesitation.

It was nice to see a pro military movie. It touched on the private lives of the Seal team just enough. Not so much that it took away from the flow of the movie, like some other films and tv series have.

It also showed the ultimate sacrifice that is so often made for our freedom.

All in all I recommend this film for what it is and Ive said it before and I will say it until I can no longer say it,

[color:blue] God Bless our military and their families, thank you all. And a thank you to our Police and Fire personnel as well.

Thanks for the review, I'll have to check it out when it makes it out here. I read a New York Times article a few days ago (found it: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/seals_with_kiss_36a2DnY6uoDD8dQbYN40vO) which said:

Starring active-duty members of the elite commando unit and based on real events, the film is a bracing reminder of the war films Tinseltown used to make — and, if it scores, will be making again.

Not sure how much "based on real events" means, but its probably more realistic then your usual Hollywood movie that claims the same.

Heres to our Heroes that serve and protect us daily:thumbup:

I cant wait to see the movie:cool:

Can't wait to get some time to see it.

God bless those who serve, have served and will serve.

I know it is very much a personal decision but I would like some input from those of you who have seen it.

Given the R rating, would you consider it an appropriate movie for pre-teen boys to see with a parent? Is the R mostly for language, violence etc?

I want to take my son (& maybe some of his friends with their parents' permission) but am not sure if it will be totally inappropriate for him / them.
